Why should I buy an eBike from EBIKES DIRECT?
We offer straightforward, direct access to reputable, high quality eBikes sold at competitive prices. The eBikes we stock are made with safe, reliable name-brand components that any reputable bike shop can service and support. The motors, gears, brakes and display on our eBikes all come with Shimano components as standard - the world's leading bicycle component manufacturer.
How do I know which eBike is the right one for me?
Unsure where to start? Why not take use our eBike selector tool to see if we have the right eBike for you? If we don't have anything suitable, don't worry... we won't try and flog the wrong eBike for you.
What brands of eBikes do you offer?
Ebikes Direct is the exclusive New Zealand distributor for the eBike brands of Swiss E-Mobility Group, Zurich. These include Cilo, Simpel, EGO Movement and Allegro. Our first brand to launch in Aotearoa is Cilo, one of Switzerland's most renowned bike brands of the last hundred years. There's more to come in 2025, so make sure to sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear!
Can I test ride the eBike?
Maybe/Yes. We are growing our network of independent eBike retailers nationwide and can arrange for a test ride at a retailer near you if we have one. View our current list of retailers here - or please contact us to enquire about your area.
Where can i get the eBike serviced?
Our eBikes use Shimano drive and electrical systems, Shimano brakes and gears and other name-brand components. Shimano is the world's biggest bike component company and its eBike drive systems are amongst global leaders. So any reputable bike shop in New Zealand will have Shimano trained mechanics and skills to service and support your eBike. We also stand behind our products and supply dealers with parts and support as needed.
How much is Shipping?
We offer FREE shipping on all eBikes to urban areas across both the North and South Islands. All in all, we cover about 80% of the country. You can view our shipping information here . If your local area isn't serviced - get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery is typically within two weeks of placing your order, but could be up to three weeks. If you're ordering from the North Island within close proximity to Auckland, delivery time will likely be a week or less. We'll be in contact with you after you place your order to confirm likely delivery time.
Are eBikes delivered fully assembled?
Yes, unlike others that send you bike in a box that you'll then need to figure out how to assemble, we deliver fully built eBikes that are ready to ride upon arrival.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30 day return policy on our eBikes. You just need to contact us to let us know your intention to return within that time, and we'll arrange for the bike to be collected. Please note, there is a $250 eBike collection service cost that will be deducted from your refund. You can view our Warranty and Returns policies here
